What an incredible 2019! Our training team worked themselves to the bone delivering different courses to nearly 450 delegates in less than a year. We’re super proud and super thankful to all the companies who put their trust in us!
Seeing our clients grow, become more productive, and earning promotions always puts a smile on our faces.
There were a few particular achievements that we really wanted to shine a spotlight on. Without further ado, here are our MadeYou Grow Greatest Hits of 2019
JPJ Team Leader Bootcamp
When JPJ/Gamesys identified 12 of their star workers for team leadership and management potential, JPJ wanted to support them on their journey and develop their key leadership skills. So MadeYou Grow developed an intense 6-month leadership boot camp that turned them into leaders! Focusing on people management and development skills, we pulled from our catalogue of training programs to create a tailor-made curriculum.
It’s very simple, the courses put you into a different mindset and you start identifying key areas within your usual approaches that you were not even considering before. Therefore, you start making better decisions and trusting yourself more. After all, what’s the cost of bad management? Low staff morale, increased turnover, and terrible productivity. And what are the benefits of great management? Staff that enjoy their work, feel comfortable talking to their managers about personal work challenges, and a team that works together – not against each other.
And how do you avoid bad management? Proper training.
Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) Investing in Talent Development
Since 2017 MadeYou have been training the hard-working staff at GiG in a variety of courses to improve productivity and communication. But in the summer of 2019, we began an epic 12-month leadership development program for 18 of their up-and-coming star leaders. These individuals were either recently promoted senior managers or existing managers who were identified as potential successors to GiG’s leadership.
It was clear that GiG wanted to invest in their company’s future in the best possible way; by investing in their staff. We were more than happy to help.
The program itself consisted of group training, followed up by 1-2-1 coaching, and homework. Some of the training we covered was:
- Managing Individuals and Teams
- The Power of Leadership
- Creative Thinking
- Presentation Skills
- Peer-to-Peer feedback
- The Art of Feedback
- Emotional Intelligence
- Building a Great Team
- How to Hire Talent
And that was just the tip of the iceberg!
All the GiG staff are a delight to work with… even after we had them run the training gauntlet! It was intense work, but we’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the delegates and the broader business as well. We’re a little over halfway through the program (expecting to get done in May 2020!) and everyone is still raring to go.
We’re thrilled to see so many of our delegates getting the advancement they deserve. It speaks volumes that a company was willing to try something a little different, and it’s clearly paying off! The best part is that the staff really take the lessons to heart; they’ve all reported feeling more engaged and more confident in their positions. As trainers, that just makes our day!

Growing and Growing: Richard joins the team!
We’re proud to say that when hiring at MadeYou, we value skills, experience and personality in equal measure. You can imagine how thrilled we were when Richard joined our MadeYou Grow training team.
Richard has over 25 years of experience in operational management, HR and training. His training delivery skills and ability to lead large groups through tricky exercises make him an invaluable asset to the team. Beyond that, he’s become a beloved friend and brings a tonne of joy to the office (especially around the holidays)
